I am a network engineer and would like to market my services to small computer consulting companies.

I was thinking of mailing flyers, sending targeted emails, or attending trade shows. Which techniques work best?

Thanks for the business card idea. Should I go pounding on doors or give them out at trade shows?

You will achieve the best results for a modest investment by having some business cards professionally designed and printed and then getting out there to meet the owners of the companies.
